June’s Together Partnership – Generosity Water
Every month we select a new non-profit to partner with. In the month of May we partnered with the American Heart Association. I’m proud to announce our partnership with Generosity Water for the month of June. Let me take a minute to explain what this company does and how you can join us in this great cause.
What is Generosity Water?
Generosity Water is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to ending the clean water crisis in developing countries, one community at a time. By embracing creativity, forming strategic partnerships, and providing in-depth accountability, we hope to inspire people to think globally and live generously.
Nearly 1 billion people around the world don’t have access to clean water—that is three times the population of the United States. Limited access to clean drinking water, sanitation and poor hygiene kill more people than wars, famine and AIDS combined—about 3.6 million annually. Generosity Water was founded in 2008 in Los Angeles, California, with a clear and simple mission: to give clean water to the people in the world without it.
Their vision is to unite supporters dedicated to ending the water crisis, partner with organizations that implement sustainable solutions, and to provide feedback showing the lasting difference each committed person can make. Since starting in 2008, with the help of their donors and partners, Generosity Water has brought clean water to over 270,000 people in 18 countries through the completion of 450 wells.
The need is great, but with just $10 you can give water to one person. With just $50 you can provide water for an entire family and with $4000 you can fund a well and impact an entire community. Below is a picture of such a well.
Generosity Water was built on the generosity of individuals who give through monthly gifts, major gifts, MyGenerosityWater.com fundraisers, or at the annual Night of Generosity gala. Each gift is the first step in a great movement of generosity that will remove barriers to better health, education and economic prosperity for people around the world.
How can you join us in this cause?
There are two ways you can participate. First, anytime someone purchases one of our Together faces this month, we will be donating $20 directly to Generosity Water. Second, during the month of June 25% of proceeds from sales of our our new ‘pool party blue strap’ will be donated as well.
However, if you are feeling extra generous, donate directly here: http://www.generositywater.com/donate/
